Sustainability Matters

At The Bouqs Co., we partner with sustainable farmers who pour love and care into growing our Farm-to-Wedding flowers. Our team of eco-friendly farms minimizes waste, recycles water, and adheres to sustainable growing practices.

What does it mean to have Rainforest Alliance Certified wedding flowers?

Flowers that come from our eco-friendly farmers in South America are Rainforest Alliance Certified. A Rainforest Alliance Certification is an assessment conducted by an independent third-party that ensures that the highest standards of sustainable practices are upheld. This means that our growing methods must support three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental.

  • EnvironmentalOur network of eco-friendly farms minimizes waste, recycles water, and uses fertilizers with fewer, if any, chemicals.
  • Economic: Our commitment to sustainability goes far beyond our environmental initiatives. We strive to ensure that our farmers are fairly compensated and have access to benefits like education and health insurance. We also have practices in place to safeguard competitive global pricing for our flowers and bundles, which means our customers pay a fair price that will never undercut our farmers’ efforts.
  • Social: In addition to economic and environmental priorities, we also take steps to ensure our farmers are treated fairly and can be proud of what they do. We’ve taken great strides in improving gender equality in our farms and the South American floral industry.

The Bouqs Extra Mile

We actively take steps to make sure we're doing not just what is required but what is right. We consistently work to increase opportunities for racial equality within the floral industry as we continue to build and foster relationships with farmers and florists of color.

In prioritizing these initiatives, our flowers meet the highest degree of sustainability and arrive fresh-as-could be for your Big Day. Join our pledge to sustainability and shop sustainably-sourced wedding flowers today.
